Safety is paramount too, especially after a charter plane crashed in the English Channel in 2019, killing footballer Emiliano Sala. ‘He was concerned about the state of the aircraft before take-off, and if we’d been involved, we would have told him to get off the plane right away. As pilots, our saying is, ‘if something doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t.’ Safety is absolutely key to us, and we always ask to see air operator certificates and how many flying hours a pilot has.”
During the pandemic, Sentinel Aviation has also pivoted to arrange Covid-19 PCR tests and essential documentation. ‘It’s been a headache for anyone travelling abroad, but we’ll sort it all and ensure there’s no queuing at the terminal at either end of your journey. We also monitor your flight throughout, so if there’s a problem with Customs or Border Control, we can step in.”
